The Real Deal
While all repros have many many differences, we'll only be pointing out a couple of very easy to see ones here.
For some basics, take note of the shape of the front transmission, the rear end, the two front circles on the front suspension, and the Font used for the word Hot WHEELS.

SAL replica
Real Replica
Do these two look the same? I thought so.
Number font and spacing different.
The two ejector pin used in a real one are now four in the replica.
Pad shape and spin post are obviously different.
The replica has a general roughness in all areas that is not there on an original.

Modified Police Cruiser
On BV's notice that what should be two big circles around the axle holes are actually "D" shaped.
Notice how much larger the word "Volkswagen" is and how it ends over the "M" in Bomb as opposed to over the "O" on originals.

Mattel HWC 20xx Olds 442
The name is different and has no circles at all around the axle holes and is now made in China.
