Some common flaws
|
Over time, as the resale value of carded cars rises, more and more of these re-production Blister Packs are being seen.
Many times they are knowingly (or unknowingly) misrepresented as originals for sale.
Below are examples of some that have been seen. Generally the cuts of the cards, fonts, spacing and logos will have flaws. The orginals were heat sealed at the factory, while these would have to be glued on. While documenting some of these for education is good, not all flaws will be pointed out here. The intent is not to give the re-producers a guide as to what to change in their next versions. Many times, when they figure out there is a flaw that is hurting their sales, a price sticker will be used to cover up that area. Original price stickers many times include the store name, while these newer coverups generally do not. |
Armed with only a little knowledge of the orginals and some of the fakes, no one should be fooled. |
